Lead Rules

Last updated: 8 September 2026

These rules govern what happens to a quote request submitted through this site. They apply equally to every request and to every business. They form part of our Terms & Conditions.

Two rules before the rest:

  • Only one business holds your details at any time. One, or none.
  • A quote request costs a homeowner nothing. Businesses pay for a listing and for notification; homeowners pay nothing at any point.

Part A — What happens to a request

1. A request is offered to the business whose profile it was submitted from, and to no other business at that time.

2. That business has one hour to open the request. During that hour no other business can see it.

3. The hour is paused overnight, on the local time of the business holding the request. A request submitted late at night does not expire before morning.

4. The hour measures whether the business opens the request. It does not measure whether the business makes contact. Whether and how quickly a business responds is a matter between the homeowner and that business.

5. If a business opens a request, the request is theirs. It is not offered to any other business, and it remains available to them permanently.

6. If a business does not open a request within the hour, the request may be offered to another business, and then, if that business also does not open it, to one further business.

7. A request is offered to no more than three businesses in total, and to no more than one at a time. Most requests are never offered beyond the business the homeowner selected.

Part B — The two exceptions

8. If the business the homeowner selected holds a paid subscription, the request is not offered onward. If that business does not open it, the request ends there, and we do not email the homeowner about it. A subscriber’s own enquiries are theirs to handle or to lose.

9. Only one of a homeowner’s requests is in the onward sequence at a time. Every business a homeowner selects directly receives that homeowner’s request. Where a second request would enter the onward sequence while another is still in it, the second request ends with the business selected. A new request is checked against recent ones by email address and, failing that, by telephone number.

10. Where no other business is eligible in that town, the request remains with the business selected. It does not expire and is not taken away.

Part C — How the next business is determined

11. The next business is determined by whose turn it is: of the businesses eligible under Part D, the one that has gone longest without being offered a request in that town, and where that is equal, the one that registered for that town first.

12. The next business is not determined by distance from the project, and is not determined by any assessment of which business is better.

13. Being offered a request places a business at the back of that town’s order, whether or not it opens the request.

14. A business is not offered the same request twice, and is not told which business held it before. Where a request is passed on, the receiving business is told only that it was not opened.

15. If no business opens a request, we send the homeowner one email containing three businesses that operate in that area and do the kind of work described, so that the homeowner may approach them directly. We do not send those businesses anything.

Those three are ordered on merit — our Score and how closely the business matches what was described — and not by whether the business pays us. They are, however, drawn only from businesses that have claimed a listing and registered for that town, and a paid subscription permits a business to register for more towns than an unpaid one. Payment therefore does not determine the order of that list, but it affects which businesses are eligible to appear on it. There will be businesses in the area that do not appear.

16. Where three suitable businesses cannot be identified, fewer are given, or none.

Part D — Which businesses are eligible

17. To be offered a request that has been passed on, a business must satisfy all of the following.

18. It must have registered for the town the request is routed to. An unpaid claimed listing may register for three towns; a paid subscription permits ten. Current allowances are stated at /for-pool-builders/.

19. It must have claimed its listing and hold an address we have confirmed. A homeowner’s name, telephone number, email address and message are not sent to an address we have not confirmed.

20. It must hold a licence on record showing active. We check the record we hold, which is refreshed on our schedule rather than the State’s. The State’s register is the authority.

21. Where more than one eligible business exists, businesses holding a paid subscription are offered the request before businesses that do not. Within each group, rule 11 applies to paid subscribers; unpaid claimed listings are ordered on merit.

22. It must plausibly do the work. We compare on two axes only — residential against commercial, and fibreglass against concrete and gunite. Where either the request or the business carries no data on an axis, that axis does not exclude the business.

23. Rules 17 to 22 govern the onward sequence only. A request submitted directly from a business’s own profile reaches that business regardless of them.

Part E — What information travels

24. A business whose address has not been confirmed is told that a request exists and is invited to verify itself. It receives no name, telephone number, email address or message.

25. A business with a confirmed account is sent the town, the budget band and the pool specification. The homeowner’s name, telephone number, email address and description are not in that message. They are available in that business’s profile manager.

26. The business the homeowner selected, where it holds a paid subscription, is sent the whole request.

27. A business that opens a request receives all of it — every field the homeowner submitted — on every tier, paid or unpaid.

28. Where a request began from a photograph, the photograph does not travel with it. The description of the pool does.

29. Where a request is passed on, the business that did not open it retains a masked record: enough to show that a request existed and was not taken, and not enough to make contact.

Part F — Withdrawal, and what a business may do with a request

30. A homeowner may withdraw a request by emailing hello@floridapoolz.com. We will cease offering it onward and inform any business holding it. We cannot withdraw it from a business that has already received it; that business should be contacted directly, and we will pass on a request to cease contact.

31. A homeowner may require a request to be deleted. See /data-policy/.

32. A business may use the information in a request only to respond to that homeowner about that project. It may not sell, share, publish or otherwise transfer it, may not add the homeowner to a marketing list, and may not use an automatic dialling system, an artificial or prerecorded voice, or bulk or automated text messaging to make contact. Terms §11.4.

33. We may cease offering requests to a business that we reasonably believe has breached rule 32.

34. No fee is charged to a business for being offered, opening or acting on a request, on any tier.

The figures, in one place

Exclusive period one hour, paused overnight
Maximum businesses a request is offered to three
Businesses holding a request at one time one, or none
Towns — unpaid claimed listing three
Towns — paid subscription ten
What determines the next business whose turn it is; paid subscriptions first
A subscriber’s own unopened request remains with them; no email to the homeowner
A homeowner’s requests in the onward sequence at once one
Emails to a homeowner about one request a confirmation, and at most one further
Cost to a homeowner none
Cost to a business to receive a request none, on any tier

These figures may be adjusted, and this page is amended when they are. What does not change without notice is the structure: one business at a time, in sequence, and never distributed to several businesses simultaneously.
